Prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against two residents of the region under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — committing sabotage by a group of individuals.

At the end of July 2025, a 24-year-old man received an offer via "Telegram" to set fire to a relay cabinet of "Ukrzaliznytsia" for 100 US dollars. He independently chose the target on the railway section between Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil regions, filmed it on video, and sent it to the customer for approval. He involved a 33-year-old acquaintance in the arson.

The men doused the relay cabinet with gasoline and set it on fire. They recorded the entire process on video for reporting to the customer.

For completing the task, the organizer received a monetary reward of 3,600 UAH.

JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" suffered damages of nearly 1 million UAH.

Recall that the men were detained and notified of suspicion in September 2025.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
