A resident of Khmelnytskyi who collected and transferred data about a military airfield to a representative of the FSB was sentenced to 15 years in prison

Under the public prosecution of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 31-year-old resident of the city of Starokostiantyniv was found guilty of treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, except for housing.
In January 2025, while looking for a side job on the Internet, the man began communicating with a representative of the FSB of the Russian Federation. Initially, he was asked to photograph price tags in stores. However, later he was offered money to conduct subversive activities against Ukraine.
The enemy was interested in the number of equipment and security measures at the military airfield. While carrying out the task, the man rode his bicycle around the military facility, simulating a phone conversation. At that time, the phone's camera recorded the airfield.
Subsequently, with the funds received from his handler, he purchased a mini video camera and an uninterruptible power supply. He installed the equipment on the roof of his house, disguising it as a television antenna, and directed the lens at the airfield. In this way, he provided the client with the ability to receive real-time video.
The illegal activity was exposed by law enforcement in March 2025.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Khmelnytskyi region with operational support from the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine.
