A man who beat and strangled a Ukrainian woman in Poland was sentenced to 13 years in prison

Based on the principled position of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the verdict of the first instance court against a 33-year-old resident of Khmelnytskyi, who killed a 25-year-old Ukrainian woman in Poland, has been upheld in the appellate process (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The incident occurred in the Mazovian Voivodeship. The man and woman met at a local festival. On their way home, a conflict arose between them. The man began to beat the woman, striking her with his hands and feet on her head and body, and then strangled her.

The next day, the man fled to Ukraine, where he hid from the investigation for a long time, as he had been declared wanted in Poland. Law enforcement officers detained him in Khmelnytskyi.

In July 2025, the court sentenced the man to 13 years of imprisonment, but the defense filed an appeal to acquit the accused.

On November 11, the Lviv Court of Appeal supported the prosecutors' position and upheld the verdict of the first instance court – 13 years of imprisonment.
