Up to 11 years of imprisonment, a sub -deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea was condemned in absentia

Under the public prosecution of the autonomy's prosecutor's office, the court found the deputy of the occupying "State Council of the Republic of Crimea" guilty and sentenced him in absentia to 11 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The convicted individual is a deputy of the "State Council of the Republic of Crimea" from the "United Russia" party, the head of the Committee on People's Diplomacy and Interethnic Relations, who, after the full-scale invasion, initiated a propaganda campaign against Ukraine and called on Crimeans to support the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

Prosecutors in court proved that in 2022 he gave a series of interviews to the pro-Russian television channel "Millet" of the media holding "ANO "Crimea Television and Radio Company", in which he publicly called for the large-scale use of the armed forces of the Russian Federation to maintain control over the occupied territories and further seize Ukraine.

The convicted individual also emphasized the "legitimacy" of the Russian Federation's occupation of the Crimean Peninsula, presenting it as a rescue of the population from "fascist ideology" and the "destructive influence of the West".

He is charged with public calls for the violent overthrow of the constitutional order and the seizure of state power (part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), collaborationist activities (part 6 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and justifying and recognizing the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine as lawful (part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

By the decree of the President of Ukraine dated June 21, 2018, the decision of the National Security and Defense Council was put into effect, which indefinitely imposed personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) against the convicted individual.

The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
