Prosecutors of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, conducted two large-scale operations. Within the framework of the preliminary investigation, damages amounting to 260 million UAH were documented, and 20 individuals were notified of suspicion.

Today, a new stage of the operation took place, during which 9 individuals were notified of suspicion, over 332 million UAH in damages were identified, and 1.5 million UAH in unlawful benefits were documented.

Among the suspects are a deputy, a medical institution specialist, heads of societies, an individual posing as a lawyer, and a director of educational institutions.

Receiving unlawful benefits.

– A resident of Uman, under the guise of a legal consultation, organized the provision of a wide range of illegal "services": the return of military registration documents, registration for military service, cessation of the search for conscription-age men, failure to take measures for their mobilization, and even desertion from military units. In total, facts of promises, offers, and receipt of unlawful benefits amounting to                                                      34 thousand USD were established.

– The deputy dean of the faculty of a state pedagogical university demanded unlawful benefits for influencing the decision of university officials regarding students' successful completion of examination sessions in the amount of 37 thousand UAH.

Violations in the field of environmental protection and land relations.

– The director of a structural unit and a specialist from one of the local enterprises organized the illegal extraction of minerals of national significance (secondary kaolins). The damage to the state is 189 million UAH.

– A resident of Uman unlawfully occupied a land plot of 0.016 hectares, which is in the communal ownership of the Uman City Council, after which he illegally constructed 8 economic buildings on it. His actions caused damages amounting to 2 million UAH.

Embezzlement.
– An authorized person of the KNP "Cherkasy City Infectious Disease Hospital" purchased medical products at inflated prices. The amount of damages is 299 thousand UAH.

– The director of the Multidisciplinary Regional Center for Vocational Education in the Cherkasy region, who is a deputy of the Mokrokalyhir United Territorial Community, purchased kitchen equipment at inflated prices. The damage to the state budget is 2 million 388 thousand UAH.

Abuse of power by an official of a private legal entity.

– The former and current heads of the board of a joint-stock company in the gas supply sector organized the unauthorized extraction of natural gas in the volume of 6.7 million cubic meters. The damage to the state is 138 million 586 thousand UAH.

Depending on the composition of the committed crimes, the suspects are charged under Articles 191, 197-1, 240, 364-1, 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Requests for preventive measures and suspension from office are being prepared.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
