During the capital repair of the radiation protection shelter at the lyceum, an official from the Rivne Regional State Administration failed to provide proper technical supervision over the construction work.

As a result, the contractor purchased materials at inflated prices, and the official signed the acts of completed work without verifying the cost and quality of the supplied goods. Consequently, over 1 million UAH was unjustifiably overpaid from the regional budget.

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Rivne Regional Prosecutor's Office, the man has been notified of suspicion of official negligence that caused severe consequences to the interests of the state (part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Rivne region with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
