27 million UAH of unpaid rent to the state. The exclusive of a mining enterprise in Vinnytsia region was reported suspicion

According to the investigation, the company, having a special permit for the use of subsoil, was extracting granite from one of the deposits in the Vinnytsia region.

According to the protocol of the State Commission of Ukraine on Mineral Resources, the subsoil user enterprise was required to produce rubble stone and gravel from the extracted granite that met state standards and pay rent based on the value of their sale.

However, during the years 2020–2024, the director of the company sold the extracted products to a related enterprise at undervalued prices – from 40 to 90 UAH per ton – and reflected this data in the tax reporting. A total of about 7.5 million m³ of products were sold.

Subsequently, the related firm sold the stone and gravel at market prices to construction industry enterprises. This led to an understatement of the rent payments and a failure to pay over 27 million UAH to the budget.

Under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Prosecutor General's Office, a former director of the mining enterprise has been notified of suspicion for intentional tax evasion in particularly large amounts (part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
