Under the procedural supervision of the Ternopil District Prosecutor's Office, a former law enforcement officer was notified of suspicion for offering his conscript acquaintance assistance in registering a disability group.

The former law enforcement officer assured of the possibility of influencing the staff of the local hospital, members of the expert team for evaluating the day-to-day functioning of the person. Documents on the appointment of a disability group and unfitness for military service would make it possible to go abroad.

He valued his service at USD 16,000.

The suspect was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine when receiving the first part of an illegal benefit in the amount of USD 10,000.

He was charged with abuse of influence (part 3 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The man was remanded in custody with bail.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the Investigation Department of Ternopil Regional Department of the National Police in Ternopil region with operational support of officers of the Strategic Investigations Department in Ternopil region.
