15 years of imprisonment: prosecutors in Volyn proved the guilt of a state traitor and saboteur in court

With the support of the public prosecution by prosecutors of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 39-year-old resident of Volyn, who repeatedly destroyed the property of Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen and set fire to a communication station on the orders of an enemy intelligence service, received a sentence of 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

It was proven that in November 2024, the previously convicted man was recruited via the Telegram messenger by representatives of Russian intelligence services.

Following that, he twice set fire to the entrance doors of apartments in the Lviv region where families of Ukrainian servicemen live, as part of the tasks assigned by his handlers.

In January 2025, the man was tasked with burning one of the cellular communication base stations in the Lutsk district.

In the early morning of January 15, 2025, he entered the fenced area of the station, damaged the equipment cables and its external protection, poured a flammable substance inside the cabinet, and set it on fire.

He recorded his actions with photos and videos on his mobile phone.

On the same day, law enforcement officers detained the citizen.

Since then, he has been in custody.

On October 22, 2025, the court found the man guilty of treason committed in a state of war, intentional damage to someone else's property by arson, sabotage, intentional damage to telecommunications technical means, and communication facilities, committed in a generally dangerous manner, which caused the cessation of telecommunications services (Part 2 of Article 111, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 194, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 113, Part 2 of Article 360 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
