Prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office ensured confirmation of the sentence in the Supreme Court to the state inspector for the protection of fishery resources in Berdyansk, convicted of treason and collaboration (part 1 of Article 111, part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). 

He was sentenced to 13 years in prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold positions in state authorities and law enforcement agencies, for a term of 15 years.

Prosecutors in courts of all instances proved that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the law enforcement officer went over to the side of the enemy and on March 28, 2022, voluntarily took the position of inspector of the illegally created law enforcement agency «security of the district natural means and water resources in Berdyansk», on the temporarily occupied territory.

The Criminal Cassation Court as part of the Supreme Court agreed with the prosecutor's arguments about the validity and appropriateness of the imposed punishment.

Criminal proceedings were considered in the order of special court proceedings in the absence of the accused (in absentia).
