The Deputy Prosecutor General took part in the Plenary Session of the Anti-corruption Network
Deputy Prosecutor General Yevhenii Yenin took part in the 20th Plenary Meeting of the Anti-corruption Network (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) in the delegation of Ukraine.
The event took place from 19 to 22 March 2019 in Paris in the framework of the fourth round of Ukraine's evaluation and implementation of the recommendations provided under the Istanbul Anti-Corruption Action Plan approved by the plenary meeting of the OECD Anti-Corruption Network in September 2017.
During the meeting Yevhenii Yenin presented an interim report on progress achieved by the Office in reforming the prosecutor's offices and increasing the institutional independence of prosecutors.
Measures taken by the department help to build up the effective functioning of the prosecutor's self-government bodies. Among other things, the report was focused on the development of a procedure for the promotion of prosecutors, the issue of increasing the criminal liability of persons who committed corrupt crimes, as well as the implementation of recently introduced powers of confiscation.
